To find the very best of British (mostly Cornish) Wildlife

01
St. Ives (The Island)
With over 400,000 day visitors per year, there is no surprise the quaint town of St. Ives steals the top spot in our wildlife watching locations. But, there is so much more to St. Ives then the beautiful beaches, and bustling streets. Upon diving under the water, you can discover a whole new world. And there really is something for everyone. For those who don't fancy braving the cold waters, take a pair of binoculars to the tip of 'the island' (obviously not an island, even I don't know where the name came from; but the locals are more than friendly and will be more than happy to answer all of your questions! This will. build your knowledge in the most easy way.) Don't forget to take a trip to the Cornish Deli, and pick up a vegan pesto ciabatta Sani, for just £4. You really can't beat it. The accessibility of the island is superb, with a large carpark at the bottom of a small hill.

02
Godrevy Beach
This one doesn't take much explaining, just go. Take a BBQ, and your favourite people in the world, watch the sunset and have the best time in the world. And don't park in the bottom carpark, the top one is a different world.
And if you're lucky you'll get to swim with some friendly grey seals.
Drive through Gwithian and then turn left for Godrevy (signposted to Godrevy). Post Code: TR27 5ED.

03
Falmouth (Pendennis Point)
With many recent sightings of many dolphin species, check out the bustling university town of Falmouth, whilst getting to spot some wildlife. Maybe even join a Sea-quest Survey...
Living within Falmouth, it is truly one of my favourite wildlife watching spots (look out for my upcoming blog ALL about Falmouth and why it is my favourite place in the world.)
But for this page, I'll do a quick run down.
Head to Pendennis point for a panoramic view of the south coast. Then, get stuck into the nitty gritty of British wildlife, and get some up close experience on the coast of castle beach. Then, depending on the time of day; even though it's always 5pm somewhere in the world, and head to either the Bearded Brewery Falmouth, chat to owner, Richard, one of Falmouth's most interesting people. Or, pop to Oggies cafe for the best vegan sausage rolls (you'll understand why there are no Greggs in well proper Cornwall.) If you fancy some more sea views a newly opened cafe called Planted Works, offers just that and some banging coffee.
Oh yeah, and it home to Pendennis Castle, one of many castles critical to defending England, to prevent its use by an enemy intending to invade. The castle was part of national defensive preparations under Henry VIII, between 1539 and 1547.
One of my favourite trips round Pendennis points is on the Next Bikes which are conveniently places right outside my favourite Brewery in Cornwall, you can pick up these electric bikes for just £3-5 depends on how long you use them. Zip up the hefty Pendennis rise, taking in the view of the boats, reach Pendennis point, cycle past the castle, past a very quaint swing, pictured to the right, and then cycle past Gylly beach, and back into town! Route also highlighted on the right.
